Sidewalk Chalk

I finally used a recipe from Pinterest to make edible sidewalk chalk paint.
We had a good time!

Our neighbor, who is obsessed with P, ran over as soon as she saw the garage door go up.
That is not abnormal.
But it's all good. She was able to help P with the paint.

Don't worry. It's just cornstarch and water.

Ok, now this might be a little excessive.

Oh boy!

Oh yeah, this just happened!

We found out later that food coloring stains concrete...and skin.  Oops!

Arts Festival

Last Saturday we went to the Edmond Arts Festival.
Although we did not buy any art, it was fun just to be outside.
P also had some fun firsts.

We got to watch glass blowing.

P picked a duck!
Actually, she just pointed to one first.

Now she has the hang of it!

Yes, my child is barefoot.
This is an art festival! Hippies are welcome.

Maybe next year.

In and Out

P is still enjoying playing outside, but she has also learned a few new tricks inside.
Being cute is an old trick, but she does it so good that I thought I better share.

We got the water hose out and sprayed P.
She got a kick out of that.

She's been carrying this bucket around like a purse.
I don't know where she came up with that, because I don't carry a purse.
None the less, it's pretty cute.

This is not a new trick.
She was mad that I wouldn't give her the camera.
This girl LOVES to look at herself on the camera.

I decided to give P one of my old purses to play with instead of the bucket.
She knew what to do right away.

Alright, on to some of P's newest tricks:

She was quite happy for herself after both triumphs.
Don't worry, she will not be allowed to regularly climb on our furniture,
but I had to capture it on camera first.

And here's one last pic just for laughs.

I Wish I Had A...

FENCE!

So I got the pool out for P this week.
She checked it out...

Climbed in...

And then climbed out...

And headed for the front yard.

This happens daily.
She cries to go outside,
so we go with the intentions of playing on the slide or pool...

But she guns it for the front yard instead.
She loves playing chase - as long as I'm the one chasing.

She did get distracted a few times...

DIRT! YEA!

And then straight for the street she goes. Sigh.

Take Two:
I pick her up and carry her to the backyard...again.

Welp, there she goes.

And she's off...again.

More distractions.

She faked me out a little bit by playing on her slide,
but it wasn't long before she headed the other way for the front yard.
Sneaky!

And there lies a lonely pool.
