I Love Zoo

We went to the zoo today!

Paisley got to spend some time with her boyfriends, Jett and Jagger.
(I still don't know which is which, so I will just call them "the boys".)

Uh Oh, she's getting a little "touchy feely" with Jett...or is it Jagger?
This is not the petting zoo, Paisley!

I don't think her daddy will approve of this!

Ok, on to the goats.
Since P can walk now, I let her explore the REAL petting zoo.

She would not touch the goat,
but she did stand about a foot away and wave to the goat.
He did not wave back.

Oh look! Dirt!

Ok, back to the goats.
Yay, she finally touched it. Barely.

Slide On Over

So if you didn't hear - we scored a super sweet deal on a Little Tikes play set for Paisley.
I have been checking craigslist every day for a couple of months
trying to find a good deal on just a simple slide.
Well, thanks to a generous family in our neighborhood, and my ninja speed reply to a facebook post,
we ended up scoring this FOR FREE!

Paisley was in awe of her new "toy".

She immediately knew what to do: climb UP the slide.

Of course she could not climb up the slide by herself.
Her dad also had to help her down the slide.

But once she was down, it was time to climb right back up again!

She checked out some of the other features, too.

Uh Oh, she's escaping!

Where are you going, Miss P?

Oh look, she took off her shoe. Imagine that!

OOOOoooo! A Tunnel!

Help! My dress is stuck under my foot!

I think our new toy is a big hit.
I look forward to watching P actually able to climb up the ladders
and slide down the slides for hours of fun with her friends.

Sleep Like a Rock Star

I would like to take a minute to brag on my daughter.
She has been sleeping like a rock star ever since we got home from our beach trip.
Maybe she is still trying to catch up on her rest, but I will take it!
She takes two naps a day. Yes, I said TWO naps: 2 hours and 1 hour...without whining!
Then she sleeps from 6:00 pm to 7:45 am.
As I'm writing this, I realize I may have just jinxed myself by telling you guys
about her amazing sleeping habits, but I had to tell somebody!!!

On another note, P put on a show for me the other day.
Her stage: atop a box of diapers
Her talent: a whole plethora of tricks

This is a new thing.
She puts her arms in front of her like "I don't know" and then shakes her head "No."

This is also a new thing.
She claps her hands against her chest like King Kong or Tarzan.

 Hip Hop Hooraayyy, HOOOOoo

And the final act...drum roll please....

TADA!!!

Credits go to Gram & Pap for her costume.

Happy First Birthday, Ashlyn

As most of you know, last week P and I traveled to the beach for Spring Break.
However, we made a pit stop in Houston to celebrate P's cousin's birthday.
Ashlyn had a super duper "Milk and Cookies" first birthday party.
My sister went ALL OUT to give Ash a wonderful party.
Thank goodness for pictures so Ashlyn will always know how "sweet" her first birthday was.

 We had cake...
four different kinds of fresh cookies...
 sinfully good Oreo cupcakes...
 three choices of milk...
and, of course, personalized water bottles.
We even got more cookies as party favors.

Even Ashlyn was dressed to impress.

Her shirt says "Got Milk?" with a cow on it.
I'm especially fond of her glamorous tutu that I may have had something to do with.

Ashlyn made out pretty well at her party:

 BRING ME SOME CAKE!!!

 BOOM!

BRING ME SOME PRESENTS!!!

BOOM!

BRING ME SOME FRIENDS!!!

BOOM!

BOOM!
This picture is especially funny because one kid (mine) is on the move,
another kid (Ash) is throwing balls (and probably crying), another is babysitting,
and the last kid is eating leaves out of the plant pot.

There were TONS of kids at the party.
And balls EVERYWHERE!
P had a great time, too.
She entertained herself the entire time and never got in trouble or started crying.
I was very proud of her.

This was my favorite moment:
Eating Cake!!! YUM!

P was obviously not as thrilled about the cake as I was.

Ashlyn sure has lots of people who love her.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, MISS ASHLYN!!!
